Everything It Takes to Get Operating.
Your truck is already secured. Here's everything else OTR Consulting builds around it to get your trucking business operating.

Truck(s) Included
OTR Consulting secures the truck(s) for your program in advance — newer-model equipment appropriate to your operation, already lined up, and included as part of your complete package. Title is signed over to your business when the deal is funded.

OTR Consulting secures the truck(s) for each program in advance — newer-model equipment appropriate to the program, already lined up before you begin. The truck(s) are included as part of the complete package OTR Consulting sells you, alongside the business setup, systems, and support described below.
When the deal is funded, the title is signed over directly to your business. The equipment becomes a company asset in your business's name — not something leased, rented, or held by OTR Consulting.
A comprehensive, attorney-drafted contract and purchase agreement governs the sale of the complete package (truck(s) + business + support). This page describes the package at a high level only — it doesn't restate or substitute for the actual contract terms, which govern the transaction itself.

Business Setup
Help establishing your company structure — LLC formation, your EIN, and FMCSA operating authority — plus required accounts, insurance coordination, ELD/camera systems, fuel programs, trucking software, and dispatch systems.
Guidance on forming your company — typically as an LLC — and obtaining your federal Employer Identification Number (EIN), the legal and financial foundation every trucking business needs before it can operate.
Guidance through the process of applying for FMCSA operating authority so you can get your USDOT number and MC number, the federal registrations required to legally move freight as a motor carrier. You can start under your own operating authority from day one, lease onto an established, already-compliant carrier's authority while yours matures, or use a combination of both — we help you decide the right path for your timeline and risk tolerance.
Guidance on required operating accounts and operational systems, plus coordination and introductions for insurance, ELD/camera systems, fuel programs, maintenance resources, trucking software, and dispatch systems and workflows.
This is guidance, coordination, and introductions — not legal, tax, insurance, or lending services provided directly by OTR Consulting. We recommend working with qualified, licensed professionals for the legal and tax filings involved.
OTR Consulting doesn't provide financing directly. Because this is a new business, outside lenders tend to view it as higher risk, which can make financing harder to secure than it would be for an established company — most clients fund their investment in cash. On select packages, a small portion of the investment may be available through seller carry-back, evaluated case-by-case and never guaranteed.

Compliance & Safety Setup
Guidance on FMCSA/DOT compliance, driver qualification files, onboarding, Hours of Service, vehicle documentation, and safety processes — the parts of trucking regulation most new owners find overwhelming.
Trucking is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the country. Federal FMCSA/DOT rules alone cover driver qualification, Hours of Service, drug and alcohol testing, vehicle maintenance, and safety scoring — and many of those requirements are layered with additional state-specific rules on top. It's genuinely easy for a new carrier to fall out of compliance without realizing it, and the consequences can include fines, out-of-service orders, or losing your operating authority altogether.
This is exactly the part of the business we take off your plate. We provide guidance on FMCSA/DOT compliance, Driver Qualification Files, driver onboarding paperwork, MVR checks, the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, PSP records, Hours of Service, ELD processes, vehicle documentation, maintenance processes, inspections, and safety procedures — so you're not left decoding federal regulations on your own.
This is part of getting your business operational — not a substitute for legal or regulatory advice. Requirements vary based on your individual circumstances and applicable regulations.

Operational Setup
Support with dispatch, load planning, freight strategy, driver recruiting, onboarding, and payroll, operating costs, and the day-to-day administrative work of running a fleet.
Support with dispatch, load planning, and a diversified freight strategy — regional freight, OTR freight, freight brokers, load boards, and Amazon Relay as one channel among others.
Guidance on driver recruiting, onboarding, management, and retention; understanding rates and operating costs; and profitability education so you know what's actually driving your bottom line.
Guidance on the administrative side of running a fleet — setting up payroll for drivers and staff, driver onboarding paperwork and processes, and handling driver termination and offboarding when needed — so the people side of your operation runs as smoothly as the trucks.
Day-to-day operating processes and maintenance coordination that keep a trucking business running week after week.
Multiple one-on-one courses on how to run the company — compliance, CSA scoring, inspections, intro to trucks, dispatch (including meeting the dispatch team), and trucking language — before the trucks roll. See the 6-month roadmap for the day-by-day path.

Vendor & Industry Resources
Access to guidance and established industry relationships — insurance, maintenance, ELD/camera providers, fuel programs, and freight contacts — so you're not building every relationship from scratch.
Access to guidance and established industry relationships across insurance resources, mechanics and repair resources, tire and parts vendors, ELD/camera providers, fuel providers, trucking software, and freight contacts.
This is access to relationships and guidance — not a guarantee that every vendor accepts every client.
