From an Idea to an Operating Trucking Business.
OTR Consulting helps you determine the right starting point, secures the equipment already built into your program, establishes your operation from A–Z, and stays with you for six months from the day your agreement is fully executed — training and setup first, then the operating job once freight is moving.
You bring the goal. We help build the operation around it.

The Process
A process built in the right order.
Starting a trucking company involves dozens of moving pieces. Our process puts them in the right order.
Step 1 — Consultation
Start With Your Goals
Before anything else, we take the time to understand who you are and where you want to go. That's how we determine whether a 1-, 2-, or 3-truck starting point makes sense for you.
The goal is simple: figure out the right starting point for your situation — not to push you toward the biggest program. Plenty of clients start with one truck and grow into a fleet later; others are ready to start with two or three from day one.
We'll also show you real client settlement data — including our approved average of $50,000+ net profit per truck, per year* — so you can see the numbers for yourself before deciding anything.
*Based on actual settlement data across current OTR Consulting clients. Past performance does not guarantee future results — individual results vary based on freight rates, driver retention, market conditions, and how the business is operated.
Step 2 — Build the Plan
Create the Roadmap Before the Trucks Start Moving
Once we understand your goals, we build an implementation roadmap covering every major piece needed to launch — so nothing gets figured out at the last minute.
The plan is the order of work after the agreement is fully executed — not a list of topics. Company, authority, insurance, and your owner courses come first. Drivers, ELDs, cameras, and TMS come next. Dispatch, vendors, and freight sit on that same map so launch is not the first week you invent a process. Equipment is already secured; this step is how the rest happens in sequence.
Your Trucks Are Secured Before You Launch
We've already handled one of the biggest hurdles — securing the equipment your operation will start with.
One of the biggest hurdles in starting a trucking business is finding the right equipment. With OTR Consulting, that part is already done. The truck or trucks tied to your selected program are identified and secured in advance, as part of your complete package — not a separate purchase decision you have to make on your own.
OTR Consulting coordinates the equipment side of your launch so you can focus on building and operating the business. Your starting fleet size simply follows the program you choose.
When the deal is funded, the title is signed directly over to your business — the truck becomes a company asset in your name, not something leased or held by OTR Consulting.

OTR Consulting doesn't provide financing directly. Because this is a new business, outside financing can be harder to secure than it would be for an established company, which is why most clients fund their investment in cash. On select packages, a small portion of the investment may be available through seller carry-back, evaluated case-by-case.
Specific truck details, acquisition structure, and financial terms are reviewed during your consultation and the transaction process.
Step 4 — Build the Operation
A Truck Is Only One Piece of the Business.
Once your equipment is secured, we help build everything else your operation needs to run — organized into six core categories.

- Amazon Relay as one channel*
Drivers are not an afterthought. The right drivers are what turn a truck into a running, revenue-generating business, so recruiting and onboarding them is built into this step alongside your systems and compliance foundation — not left for you to figure out after launch.
*Amazon Relay is one potential freight channel within a diversified strategy. OTR Consulting is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon, and freight, routes, approval, and revenue are never guaranteed.
Legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and lending services are coordinated through third-party professionals — not provided directly by OTR Consulting.
Why Not Do It Alone
Buying a truck still leaves you a company to build.
On your own
Brokers rarely work with a brand-new authority.
No history, no freight — the truck sits while you try to get set up.
Dispatch is on you, every day.
Finding loads, covering trucks, and keeping drivers moving — with no one on the other end who already knows the lanes.
Compliance has to be right before you roll.
A weigh-station stop while you're out of compliance can put you out of service and cost thousands.
The back office is its own job.
Payroll, bookkeeping, settlements, and the weekly admin sit on you while you're also trying to get freight and stay legal.
Everything else still has to be assembled.
Find and buy equipment, form the entity, wait on authority, and recruit a driver with an empty truck.
With OTR Consulting
We already have the broker relationships.
Launch is not the first time we're asking where the freight is.
You get dispatching with us.
We work the freight and the daily plan with you — covering trucks and keeping them moving — instead of leaving you to learn dispatch after the truck is already on the road.
Compliance is built before you roll.
DQ files, ELDs, and safety processes are in place so you're not decoding FMCSA after a roadside inspection.
We teach the back office with you.
Payroll, bookkeeping, settlements, and the operating rhythm — during the six months, not in a binder you decode alone.
The rest of the package is built in sequence.
Truck(s) secured in advance and titled to your business when the deal is funded, plus entity, authority, vendors, and drivers — then six months from the day your agreement is fully executed: training and setup first, operating support once freight is moving.
You own the company. We do not operate it for you, finance it, or sell you a truck as a standalone dealer transaction.
Step 5 — Launch
Put the operation into motion with real freight — not one source.
Once the major pieces are in place, the business starts moving freight. Dispatch, load planning, rates, and daily execution all sit on a diversified strategy. That only works if there is actual freight behind it.
Real broker relationships
We've built broker and lane relationships over years of running trucks — not a list of names on a slide.
Working freight every day
Our team works with brokers every day as part of live operations, so launch isn't the first time we're asking where the freight is.
Amazon Relay is one channel
Amazon Relay is one channel in that mix. Amazon decides approval. It is not a partnership, and it is not the whole plan.
Where freight comes from
Freight this operation already hauls
Your mix depends on equipment, lanes, and what fits the operation. No specific loads, contracts, or revenue are guaranteed.
Amazon Relay is one potential freight channel within a diversified strategy. OTR Consulting is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon, and approval, loads, contracts, rates, revenue, and profitability are never guaranteed.
The Full Timeline
Your 6 Months, Mapped Out.
Building the operation and launching your business happens in three phases after the agreement is fully executed, from company setup and training to freight on the road.
Setup, Compliance & Training

Drivers & Systems
Days 40–59
Initial Operations
Days 60–180
OptionalAmazon Relay. Later in the six months, we can help you prepare for Amazon Relay as one additional freight channel. Amazon decides approval — it is never guaranteed.
Day 0 is the day your agreement is fully executed. Timing shown is typical based on our standard process — actual timelines vary based on state requirements, government processing times, and individual circumstances. Amazon Relay is optional; OTR Consulting is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon, and Amazon Relay account eligibility is never guaranteed.
Programs
Same process. Three starting fleet sizes.
The roadmap above is the same for every program. The right starting point depends on your capital, experience, and goals.
Program Investment is confirmed during your consultation and can vary depending on equipment and additional third-party costs that may apply. *Based on actual settlement data across current OTR Consulting clients. Past performance does not guarantee future results — individual results vary based on freight rates, driver retention, market conditions, and how the business is operated.
